That’s a fair question. Bluehost web hosting is a needed part of your WordPress blog setup strategy. You need this type of service to “host” your blog. What this means is, once you have registered your blog / business blog domain, you need somewhere to “host” it. This is what makes it ‘live”, so everyone can view it.
Why do I recommend Bluehost? Well, for a few really good reasons.
#1.) Cost – Rates start at $3.95 per month.
#2) Ease of setup
Setting up your hosting account
Go to the Bluehost home page , and click “get started now”. You will be directed to a page with 3 options for setting up your hosting. Review what you believe would be suitable to your needs, and then click the “select” button.
There are 3 options for hosting plans
basic – 1 website, 1 included domain, and $3.95 per month
plus – 10 websites, 1 included domain and $6.95 per month
pro – unlimited websites, 1 included domain and $14.95 per month
After clicking the hosting option you would prefer, you will be prompted to select either a free domain option or if you already have a domain, you will be prompted to include it.
In our example, www.fancypants.com was already registered, but we were informed of alternate website address options, I opted to register www.fancypants.us (well, we didn’t actually register it, but we went through the setup phase for the purposes of this article).
The final step after you have chosen your domain, is to sign up and get your website or blog hosted. This is the page where you would do this.
And my final reason for hosting with Bluehost (which I believe is key)
#3.) Customer service – After I set up my hosting for my blog www.braindropsmarketing.com , I contacted Bluehost 3 times over the subsequent month. Primarily to ensure everything was setup correctly and if I needed to do anything else to make my blog more efficient. Which I am happy to state, I had no issues. I didn’t contact them by telephone, which is certainly an option, but via their online chat service. Each time, on average it took approximately 2 minute to connect to a customer service rep. Each time, they were professional and answered my questions thoroughly. At the end of the chat, there was a quick survey asking how you rank the service and if you would recommend their service to others. I think this is great, this allows Bluehost to stay on top of what is being asked of them, and it allows them to work on areas for improvement.
I have been with Bluehost for 2 years now, and I have had zero issues with my hosting service. My site is live 24/7, opens fast and operates smoothly.
One last point, and I believe it is pretty important, is that Bluehost routinely backups your blog. There is no need for you to set up additional services like Dropbox or other WordPress plugins to do backups. You can have peace of mind that if things went sideways for whatever reason on your blog, there is a backup of your site on Bluehost. With a few keyboard button clicks, you will have your site restored and ready to roll. To me, that is super important. You will have put much effort into setting up your blog, with features and plugins that are unique and beneficial to your site. You DO NOT want to lose this information. The hours it would take to restore your site would be overwhelming, to say the very least.
If you are serious about setting up a WordPress blog, and have it professional hosted, I would strongly recommend you consider Bluehost.
